Brian R. VanCise
Founder INSTINCTIVE RESPONSE TRAININGô

Brian VanCise has trained both in the U.S., Japan and India
with numerous Martial Arts Masters.

Brian Tritico ( i`m sure he should be holding a board with numbers on it!) Head Instructor

I started my training in 1989 in the Houston area. Since that time I have been to several Tai Kai, and trained in Japan with several of the Japanese instructors, as well as, Hatsumi sensei at the Honbu. Before becoming a shidoshi, I was a student of Joe Maurantonio, who's dojo is located in New York.

Excellent site of Dale Seago, Dale`s a very respected and knowledgeable senior member of the Bujinkan, his work and life experience speaks for itself.

The Colorado Springs Bujinkan is a training group dedicated to the study of martial arts and self defense mainly centering around the methods and techniques of the Bujinkan.

The theme of training is to learn from the past to apply the lessons to the future. While things like swords are taught, the emphasis is on being able to get home in one piece after a violent attack. The use of sticks, knives and pistols are taught alongside classical weaponry with the goal of learning the core skills that do not change over time even if the applications do.

Students will learn things as diverse as how to fight with an axe, how to recognize and avoid danger and how to shoot a firearm. Most of the training revolves around empty hand skills.

The movements are designed to be usable by a wide variety of people. Students are encouraged to keep as fit as they can, but there is no need to be covered in muscles in order to do well.

There are no flashy moves or catering to those seeking fantasy. Only serious students willing to make a commitment to excellence will be accepted.

Our standards are high. The knowledge is too easily abused to risk teaching to the wrong people. Training dates and times will be told only after an interview and possible background check.

Those that think they can pass the requirements to join should contact the head instructor, Don Roley, at Keldaerismaster@yahoo.com.

The warrior journey begins

The teacher

Don Roley spent almost 15 years studying the Bujinkan in Japan and his total experience in the art is over 20 years. When master instructor Hiroshi Nagase could not make class, it was Don he asked to teach in his place. Many Japanese instructors used him as a translator for class. He is widely acknowledged as an expert in ninjutsu and its history and is currently working on a translation of an ancient text of ninjutsu. He has worked as a pistol instructor, served in the military and studied a variety of martial arts since 1978. He hates his mother in law.

Duff Culp- Bujinkan Sanami Dojo TX--Joining the Bujinkan in 1999 Duff Culp on an invite from a friend unsuspectingly began his love of Budo Taijutsu. Unknown to him at the time the depth this art would take him. Duff Culp began his martial arts training as a child training in Nippon Kan Aikido, Kenpo Karate, and many other brief encounters with other arts. As a teenager Mr. Culp trained in Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, a form based more on energy awareness than technique, this would prove valuable. Training under the guidance of Shihan Shawn Gray, Mr. Culp has also been to many Tai Kai\\\'s to train with Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi. Along with this Duff Culp trains with local teachers and other Shihan at seminars and is always looking for opportunities to learn more. He plans to take his first trip to Japan in 2009. Duff Culp is at a point in his training where only the best will do. Always looking to the heart of the matter and holding his students and himself to the highest standards. He loves to share and to help others to better their lives. He welcomes all with a good heart who wish to make a positive impact on themselves and their communities.

James has participated in martial arts for more 25 years, studying Eastern as well as Western styles. A graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with a major in philosophy, he moved to Japan in 1995 to study under Dr. Hatsumi and his Shihan - master teachers.

About Our Dojo

Located along lake Champlain in the scenic Green Mountains of Vermont, The Bujinkan Kongoshin Dojo is the oldest bujinkan dojo in Vermont. We are a fully licensed, traditional martial training environment endorsed by Grandmaster Hatsumi. The dojo itself and many of the tools we train with, are hand crafted by Shidoshi Amblo and some of the senior students.

Every year, Grandmaster Hatsumi reveals the theme of study to be conducted for the year. Shidoshi Amblo travels to Japan to train with Grandmaster and his Shihan to get the heart and feeling of the area of study. This, in turn, is the assigned training for the year Shidoshi brings home for us. The heart to heart, person to person (kaden) training with Grandmaster and his shihan is absolutely essential. We train very hard with each other to make our Budo real.

It`s in Orange County so I wonder if he`s near the Orange County Choppers????? and he`s NO relation to Steven K Hayes
